Kent and Sussex Counties – Other Subsidized and cost-effective Housing Options
Low-earnings families, disabled persons and seniors persons whose incomes don’t exceed 50% of median earnings (in some instances, 80%),
are qualified to call home in site-based subsidized complexes. Normally, resident families pay 30% of the adjusted gross earnings to
rent one in a site-based subsidized site. The government government subsidizes the total amount from the rent.
Tax credit sites offer less than market rate rents to families and people with modest incomes. The tenant is needed to
spend the money for full rent and utilities, and should possess a minimum earnings to qualify (instead of subsidized housing, that has provisions
for individuals without any regular earnings).
Note: Specific earnings limits and
payment standards are determined according to family size and
county location from the unit. Please contact the websites directly for rates and availability.
